abstract FIELD: metallurgy. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgical plants, in particular to a rolling mill with a cooling zone for cooling and scissors for cross-cutting of metal strips, preferably made of steel. Claimed method of cross-cutting of metal strip (6), preferably a steel strip, includes the following steps: moving metal strip (6) in the direction of handling through cooling zone (10); cooling metal strip (6) in cooling zone (10); then cross-cutting of metal strip (6) with scissors (12) in such a way that metal strip (6) is divided in the cross direction into preceding section (28) of the metal strip with the end portion of the strip of preceding section (32) of the metal strip and subsequent section (29) of the metal strip with a head portion of the strip of subsequent section (31) of the metal strip, and the head portion of the strip of subsequent section (31) of the metal strip in handling direction (34) immediately follows the end portion of the strip of preceding section (32) of the metal strip. In this case, metal strip (6) in cooling zone (10) is cooled to a predetermined temperature profile in the longitudinal direction of metal strip (6) in such a way that metal strip (6) in the head portion of the strip of subsequent portion (31) of the metal strip and the end portion of the strip of preceding portion (32) of the metal strip has a higher temperature than in the areas in front and behind. Invention also relates to a device for cross-cutting metal strip (6) for carrying out the claimed method. n EFFECT: creation of the method and device by means of which metal strips with a thicknesses of >4 mm and/or metal strips of high-strength grades of metal can be cross-cut using scissors, which are placed after the finishing line and after the cooling zone. n 20 cl, 10 dwg
