abstract FIELD: internal combustion engines. n SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. This method is designed to calibrate a control device that controls or regulates the conversion of exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. Above calibration is carried out using a simulation model in which several reactions, which occur during conversion of exhaust gas at different times and / or parallel with each other, are displayed in the form of kinetic reaction equations. Further, the variable parameters of the individual kinetic equations of the reaction of the simulation model are calibrated using real values of the corresponding parameters of the equations that are measured using measurement equipment on a test bench. For a control device or in a control device, a model of characteristic fields is formed that is independent of the simulation model and has a large number of characteristic fields. Also, the parameters of the reactions of each individual reaction occurring in the framework of conversion of exhaust gas affecting the reaction kinetics are used as parameters of the characteristics fields and the characteristics fields are filled with these parameters. For parameterization of the characteristics fields, using the simulation model, the values of the parameters of the characteristics fields that influence the reaction kinetics are determined and transferred to the model of the characteristics fields. To calibrate the model of the characteristics field in the actual process of operation and / or on the test bench, the values of parameters of the characteristics fields are purposefully technically measured for the characteristics fields in the model of characteristics fields. Using a data processing device, it is determined whether the measured value deviates by a certain predetermined value from the value of the considered parameter of the characteristics field stored in the corresponding characteristics field, in the event of a positive response, the stored value is replaced by the new value without affecting others that are not affected by changes in the characteristics field of the characteristics field model. n EFFECT: technical result consists in optimal control of exhaust gas conversion. n 6 cl, 1 dwg
