titleOfInvention signal transmission
abstract Each end of the cable (3-6) used to carry the signals is connected to a circuit module (2, 7) with at least one circuit device for equalizing damping distortion and group running time distortion, either separately, together or in different combinations obtained by inverting them. The result is an optimum setting allowing broadband signals to be transmitted at 10 Mb/s or more over cables with a length of at least 500 m, or at considerably higher rates or frequencies (e.g. 100 Mb/s) over cables shorter than ca. 100 m. These cables can be existing telephone cables. The device is used for the simultaneous and selective transmission of signals with different frequencies, e.g. telephone calls, ring signals, data signals or cable TV signals, such as broadband signals in the frequency range from 0 Mhz to more than 10 MHz. The cables contain two or more wires and are e.g. two-wire and/or four-wire copper electric wires.
