abstract The heat exchanger extends upwards from the top of the stove and contains a length direction flue gas channel linked to the flue gas outlet of the stove, as well as a length direction heat carrying medium flow channel. Heat exchangers (11,12) connected to the burner chamber (14) in the stove (10) are used to recover heat from the flue gases leaving the stove through the flue gas outlet. The burner extends upwards in a vertical direction through the stove from a burner (15) mounted in a lower part of the stove, and opens out into the upwards pointing flue gas outlet in the top of the stove. One heat exchanger (11) is fitted on top of the stove and extends in an upwards vertical direction. A flue gas channel (27) linked at the bottom end of the heat exchanger to the flue gas outlet extends in the length direction of the heat exchanger, along with a flow channel (28) for a gaseous or liquid heat carrying medium, e.g. water.
