titleOfInvention Carbon nanostructured materials and methods for the synthesis of these materials
abstract The present innovation is related to methods for the application of vertically oriented carbon nanowires (CNWs) using gas imbalances such as gas plasma. The methods are presented as a rapid application of evenly spaced CNWs over large surfaces of different substrates using etching carbon-containing materials with reactive gas particles, the formation of oxidized carbon-containing gas molecules, ionization of said molecules, and the interaction of said molecules, either neutral or positively charged, with the substrate. CNWs prepared by these methods are useful, for example, in fuel cells, lithium-ion batteries, photovoltaic devices and sensors of specific gas molecules.
