Disclosed is a built detergent composition, comprising one or more anionic, nonionic or cationic detersive surfactants, or mixtures thereof, optional detersive adjuncts, and optional auxiliary builders, wherein the composition contains at least about 1 percent by weight of a zeolite or layered silicate builder, or mixture thereof; and at least about 1 percent by weight of a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide material of formula (I) wherein: R1 is H, C1-C4 alkyl, 2-hydroxy ethyl, 2-hydroxy propyl, or a mixture thereof; R2 is a C5-C31 hydrocarbyl; and Z is a polyhydroxyhydrocarbyl having a linear hydrocarbyl with at least 3 hydroxyls directly connected to the chain, or an alkoxylated derivative (preferably ethoxylated or propoxylated) thereof. |
