| abstract |
The invention is related to a method as well as a system for the production of glasses, where the reduction of reduction-sensitive components of the glasses is decreased or preferably is avoided during melting and fining processes. The glasses are preferably glasses with high refractive indexes. During the process an oxidizing agent is inducted into a fining vessel and preferably also into a melting crucible made of a slit skull being cooled by a cooling agent. The oxidizing agent is preferably oxygen. Furthermore the present invention relates to a system for conducting the method. |
