abstract This invention provides a coaxial cable for high frequency in which an insulator layer provided on an internal conductor in a coaxial cable so as to cover the internal conductor has satisfactory side pressure resistance and has a low transmission attenuation level. An insulating layer, which has higher degree of foaming and mechanical strength than the conventional insulating layer, can be formed by subjecting a resin composition comprising a cyclic olefin resin, a low-density polyethylene and/or a straight-chain low-density polyethylene to foam molding. As a result, the insulator layer formed on the internal conductor in the coaxial cable so as to cover the internal conductor has low dielectric loss tangent and permittivity, and a coaxial cable for high frequency having excellent transmission properties and mechanical properties can be provided.
