abstract |
Provided is a process for easily producing a porous ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer which has excellent chemical resistance, excellent filtration performance, and high heat resistance and has a porosity in a wide range. Also provided is a porous ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer obtained by the process. The process for producing a porous ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer comprises: a step in which an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer comprising repeating units based on ethylene and repeating units based on tetrafluoroethylene is dissolved at a temperature of 300 DEG C or lower in a solvent in which the ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer is soluble at 300 DEG C or lower, so as to result in a given concentration, thereby obtaining a solution; a step in which the solution is formed into a shaped object; and a step in which the shaped object is cooled to a temperature not higher than the phase separation temperature of the solution to coagulate the ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer. |
