titleOfInvention | Taiwan Golden Line, the new immunomodulatory protein, Epaf (IPAF) |
abstract | Taiwan's Anoectochilus formosanus is one of the important edible and medicinal herbs. It is separated from the protein flash chromatography system by anion exchange column to obtain a new protein, named Epaf (IPAF). The nucleic acid sequence of IPAF was found by molecular biotechnology. It showed that IPAF is a 14 kDa protein with an isoelectric point of about 5.4 and a protein sequence of 133 amino acids. Apaf (IPAF) does not agglutinate the activity of human and mouse red blood cells. IPAF (IPAF) can directly activate mouse peritoneal macrophages to produce tumor necrosis factor TNF-alpha, IL-1β, enhance macrophage phagocytosis and antigen presentation ability, and activate mouse spleen cells and B lymphocyte proliferation. Increase the surface molecules of B lymphocytes, CD69 and MHC II, and promote the secretion of IgM from B lymphocytes. Ipafu (IPAF) is shown to have immunomodulatory activity. |
