titleOfInvention Electromagnetic actuator for digital camera
abstract An electromagnetic actuator for a digital camera, particularly a small mobile phone and a flat camera, comprising a first elongated ferromagnetic member partially coaxially surrounded by a conductive coil along a first longitudinal axis and having a second longitudinal axis An electromagnet of a narrow second ferromagnetic member. The first and second ferromagnetic members have respective first and second operating surfaces and are aligned such that their longitudinal axes can be parallel and such that the respective operating surfaces overlap each other through a gap. The two members are mechanically coupled to the respective frame. A frame hinge connects the frames and causes a relative tilting action between the ferromagnetic members as current passes through the coil. This tilting action can be converted into a linear displacement along the optical axis of the optical element that is connected to the actuator. The two actuators can be combined into a component that can provide a two-axis tilt.
