abstract | A curing agent for a thermosetting epoxy resin, comprising (a) at least one aromatic amine containing at least two amine groups, and (b) at least one crystal cage compound by using tetraphenol as a host moleculen□n9,9-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)anthracenen□nObtained by reacting with an imidazole or an imidazolium derivative as a guest molecule, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R10 and R11 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, or a phenyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted by a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group or a halogen, and R12, R13, R14 and R15 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1- The C4 alkyl group or the C1-C4 alkoxy group, and n is the number 0, 1, 2 or 3, and the curing agent can be advantageously used for curing the epoxy resin. The thermosetting epoxy resin composition obtained is characterized by good pot life and high reactivity, and can be advantageously used to manufacture insulating housing articles for electrical applications that exhibit good mechanical, electrical and dielectric properties. |
