A bell assembly for a glass tube manufacturing apparatus includes a bell head and a support attached to the bell head. The support member includes a bell-shaped shaft having an inner bore and an outer surface, and a gasket positioned in the bore of the bell-shaped shaft. The heat shield extends along the outer surface of the bell-shaped shaft and reduces temperature variations across the width of the bell-shaped shaft during manufacture of the glass tube. |
