Some embodiments provide a method for removing purine compounds from a fluid mixture. The purines removed from the fluid mixture can be represented by a purine compound of the following formula: .nOther embodiments include an ion-exchange, and/or a SCX ion exchange polymer able to remove the desired purine compound from a fluid mixture, while retaining flavor compounds. Other embodiments include adding additional materials to adjust the pH of the fluid mixture. |
