abstract | The present invention relates to a nematic crystal composition which is characterized by comprising a compound of the general formulas (I-1)-(I-5) containing naphthalene-2,6-diyl, decahydronaphthalene-2,6-diyl, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalene-2,6-diyl, and to a liquid crystal display device using it. By using the nematic crystal composition, the compatibility and low-temperature preservation will be improved. Accordingly, the temperature range of the actuation of the liquid crystal display characteristic will be magnified, the driving voltage will be decreased and its temperature change will be improved, and a more rapid responsibility with respect to the desired driving voltage can be achieved. Therefore, it is most suitable for use in TN, STN, TFT, IPS, MVA, OCB, ECB, PC, PNLC, PDLC, PSCT and so on. |
