abstract The invention relates to structures of light-water nuclear reactors, in which thorium is used as fuel, in particular, to structures of non-core fuel assemblies, from which the active zones of water-water power reactors, such as the VVER-1000 reactor, are formed. In the core of a nuclear reactor containing a fuel assembly (2) from the ignition and reproducing modules, thorium fuel is burned in the reproducing module together with conventional reactor fuel, which includes non-proliferative enriched uranium or energy plutonium in the ignition module. The ignition module contains a bundle of uranium enriched fuel cells or energy plutonium, with each fuel cell having a three-lobe profile that creates helical spacer ribs. The specified fuel element beam is mounted in the casing. The casing with the bundle of fuel elements of the ignition module is mounted in the reproducing module, which includes a power frame with six longitudinal angular elements (41) and spacer grilles (42), having in the central zone a hole to accommodate the casing of the ignition module. In the power frame is a bundle of fuel cells made of thorium with the addition of enriched uranium. The support portion (9) of the shank (8) of the reproducing module is configured to be coupled to a support glass of a light water reactor. The ignition and reproduction modules have the shape of a regular hexagon. Also, the fuel assembly comprises a head (7) with a spring block for pushing it into the support cup of the reactor and preventing the fuel cells from leaking when the coolant leaks.
