Absorbent structure ( 13 )s for absorbent articles are provided, comprising an absorbent layer ( 17 ) with absorbent material ( 50 ) containing superabsorbent polymer particles supported by a supporting sheet ( 16 ), and having first and a second substantially longitudinal channel ( 26 ) that are free of said superabsorbent polymeric particles, and that comprises one or more adhesive material to immobilize said absorbent material ( 50 ).
