abstract |
A stabilized azithromycin composition comprising azithromycin monohydrate, and about 5 to about 15 weight percent, based on the total weight of the composition, of water. The present inventors have unexpectedly determined that a certain amount of water is necessary to stabilize a pharmaceutical composition comprising azithromycin monohydrate. In addition, the stabilized azithromycin monohydrate compositions do not require an antioxidant. |
