A magnetic toner having magnetic toner particles containing at least a binder resin and a magnetic material, wherein, in the test of dissolution level of the magnetic material, the dissolution percentages S 3 (% by mass), S 15 (% by mass) and S 30 (% by mass), and the dissolution level proportion S c satisfy the following expressions: 0.5≦S 3 ≦10, 40≦S 15 ≦80, 1.2≦S c [=(S 15 −S 3 )/(S 30 −S 15 )]≦10; and the magnetic toner has a dielectric loss factor (tan δ) at 25° C. and at a frequency 1.0×10 4 Hz, within the range of from 2.0×10 −3 or more to 1.5×10 −2 or less. |
