Invention relates to the preparation of sodium carbonate precursor crystals, such as sodium bicarbonate, sodium sesquicarbonate, anhydrous sodium carbonate and sodium carbonate monohydrate by a crystallization process which involves forming a first crop of said precursor crystals from a substantially saturated carbonate process solution and subjecting the mother liquor separated from the first crop of precursor crystals to crystallization, including a crystallization temperature higher than that employed to obtain the first crop of said precursor crystals, to effect formation of a second crop of precursor crystals. |
