ORGANIC MATERIAL IS STABILIZED BY THE ADDITION OF ATRIS(3,5 - DIHYDROCARBYL-4-HYDROXYPHENYL)PHOSPHATE, EITHER ALONE OR IN COMBINATION WITH A DIALKYLTHIODIALKANOATE. THIS INVENTION RELATES TO NEW 3,5-DIHYDROCARBYL-4-HYDROXYPHENYL PHOSPHATES AND THEIR USE AS ANTIOXIDANTS. MOST ORGANIC MATERIALS UNDERGO DEGRADATION IN THE PRESENCE OF OXYGEN. THIS DEGRADATION IS ACCERLERATED AT INCREASE TEMPERATURES. FREQUENTLY, HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE ENCOUNTERED DURING THE PROCESS OF THESE MATERIALS IN MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS AND THUS SOME FORM OF STABILIZER IS REQUIRED FOR MANY MATERIALS, EVEN DURING THE MANUFACTURING STAGE. OTHER MATERIALS, ARE NOT SUBJECT TO EXTREMES IN TEMPERATURE DURING MANUFACTURE, BUT EVEN THESE UNDERGO DEGRADATION ON AGING. |
