A process for producing an alkylation reaction product from an isoparaffinic reactant and an olefinic reactant containing 1butene, 2-butene and isobutylene which includes passing the olefinic reactant through an isomerization zone, fractionating the isomerization zone effluent to separate 2-butene from 1butene and isobutylene, passing the 2-butene to an alkylation zone with the isoparaffinic reactant and an alkylation catalyst, recycling a portion of the 1-butene and isobutylene to the isomerization zone, and passing a portion of the 1-butene and isobutylene to the alkylation zone with the 2-butene and isoparaffinic reactant. |
