The invention relates to compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which R 1 and R 2 are the same or different groups selected from hydrogen or acyl or n R 1 and R 2 together may represent an acetal group, and n X and Y are the same or different groups selected from hydroxy, an etherified hydroxy and an esterified hydroxy group, n having valuable lipid lowering, anti-inflammatory and immuno-modulating properties. |
