abstract | Olefins are polymerized in the presence of a catalyst prepared by reacting a mixture of a tetrahydrocarbyloxy titanium compound such as tetraisopropyl titanate and a hydrocarbyloxy titanium oxide such as di(isopropoxy) titanium oxide, an organomagnesium component such as a hydrocarbon soluble complex of dialkyl magnesium and an organoaluminum compound such as triethyl aluminum and a halide source such as ethyl aluminum dichloride. The catalysts employed in this process provide higher efficiencies than these catalysts employing either of the titanium compounds alone. |
