Disclosed are compounds of the formula R1-Ar-(CH2)a-X-(CH2)b-NH-Het wherein R1 is guanidino or substituted guanidino, Ar is furandiyl, thiophendiyl, phenylene, pyridinediyl, pyrimidinediyl, thiazolediyl, thiadiazolediyl or imidazolediyl; a is 0, 1 or 2; b is 2, 3, 4 or 5; and Het is a bicyclic heteroary group, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, quaternized derivatives, N-oxides and solvates thereof. The compounds are useful for the treatment or prophylaxis of disorders relating to excess gastric acid secretion in mammals. |
