Liquid-crystalline tercyclohexyls of the formula ##STR1## in which R is an alkyl group with 1-12 C atoms, in which one or two non-adjacent CH 2 groups can be replaced by 0, n X is --CN, --COOR 1 , --OOCR 1 , --COR 1 or R 1 , and n R 1 is an alkyl group having 1-12 C atoms, with the proviso that in the case where X=R 1 at least one CH 2 group in the alkyl group R is replaced by 0, and useful in liquid-crystalline dielectrics. |
