abstract There is disclosed an original reader capable of reading original image with a high fidelity. The original reader has a plurality of line sensors each having a plurality of photosensor elements, said line sensors being so arranged that the read lines of adjacent line sensors differ. Said plurality of line sensors and an original are relatively moved in scanning direction and vertical direction of said plurality of line sensors. An analog output of the line sensor which scans the original before others of said plurality of line sensors is delayed by a predetermined time.
