Cognitive deficiencies and/or neurological function deficits and/or mood and/or mental disturbances are treated by the administration of 3,3-disubstituted indolines. The indolines have the formula: <IMAGE> (I) wherein: p is 0 or 1; Z is O or S; R is C1-C10 alkyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, 2-pyridyl, 3-pyridyl, 4-pyridyl or <IMAGE> V, W, X, and Y independently are H, halo, C1-C3 alkyl, OR1, NO2, CF3, CN or NR2R2; R1 and R2 independently are H or C1-C3 alkyl; - &cir& H and - &cir& H' independently are 6-membered heterocyclic aromatic rings containing at least one nitrogen atom as a part of the ring optionally substituted with one substituent selected from the group C1-C3 alkyl, halo, OR1 or NR1R2; or an N-oxide or pharmaceutically suitable acid addition salt thereof. |
