A spunbonded fabric is described that is made of polyester matrix filaments and a binding component consisting of thermoplastically softenable fibers, filaments or the like, and that is suitable for use as a tufting base. The melting point of the polyester matrix filaments is by at least 90 DEG C. above that of the binding component. In the tufted condition, before the coating of the back, the maximum tensile stretching value of the carpet material is more than 50%. |
