abstract The present invention provides a method for producing addition copolymers of ethylene and cycloolefin monomers of the norbornene-type, such as norbornene and tetracyclododecene. Copolymers having a uniform structure with uniform glass transition temperature values are provided by performing the copolymerization reaction in bulk with a catalyst system soluble in the cycloolefin monomers.
