A solid powdered peroxyhydrate is provided which is an adduct of hydrogen peroxide and a polymeric electrolyte, said polymeric electrolyte having the formula: ##STR1## wherein Y is selected from CO 2 - M + and C 6 H 4 SO 3 - M + ; n X and Z are independently selected from H, OCH 3 , CO 2 R 8 and Y; n R 1 through R 7 is independently selected from H and C 1 -C 3 alkyl; n R 8 is C 1 -C 3 alkyl; n m and n are the same or different integers ranging from 0 to 20,000; and n m+n is at least 3. |
