Novel benzoxazines of the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein Q represents ##STR2## X represents hydrogen or fluorine; and R represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cyclopropylmethyl, cyanoalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, or alkylthioalkyl; n the use of the new compounds as herbicides, and novel compounds of the formula (IX) as intermediates ##STR3## wherein Y represents hydrogen, nitro, or amino; n X represents hydrogen or fluorine; and n R' represents hydrogen or R; n but Y and X do not at the same time represent hydrogen; are disclosed. |
