abstract The use of halo-benzotriazoles as corrosion inhibitors in aqueous systems is disclosed. Halo-benzotriazoles such as chloro-tolyltriazole and bromo-tolyltriazole were found to be more effective corrosion inhibitors than tolyltriazole in the presence of chlorine.
