Compounds of formula (I) wherein one of X or Y is N and the other is C; R1 is hydrogen, methyl, halogen, cyano, nitro, -CHO, -COCH3 or -COOR4; R2 is optionally substituted aryl or heteroaryl; R3 is C1-8alkyl, C1-8haloalkyl group or R4R6; R4 is hydrogen, C1-8alkyl or aryl C0-8alkyl; R6 is hydrogen, C1-8alkyl, arylC1-8alkyl, -COR8 or -OOR8; R8 is C1-8alkyl or C1-8haloalkyl; aryl is in the preceding definitions phenyl or naphtyl; heteroaryl is in the preceding definitions pyridyle, pyrazine, pyrimidine or pyridazine which may optionally be fused to a benzene ring. These compounds are useful as inhibitors of cyclo-oxygenase-2. |
