abstract A method for sizing a polytetramethylene terephthalate fiber yarn, characterized as comprising controlling the stretch ratio S (%) between a squeezing roll and a drying cylinder to a range from -9 % to -3 %, or from -1 % to +4 %; and a beam of sized polytetramethylene terephthalate fiber yarns for weaving having a winding hardness of 65 to 90 degrees, which may be obtained by winding sized yarns prepared according to the above method round a beam with a tension of 0.09 to 0.22 cN/dtex. The beam for weaving is improved in sticking property and exhibits good weaving characteristics.
