Method and apparatus for lining a conduit |
abstract |
Method and apparatus for installing a liner material (4) into a host conduit (2). The liner material (4) may include a compression liner (16) and/or a preliner (18) that is attached to the inner wall of the host conduit (2). Curable resin, slurry, or cement (10) can be placed between the liner material (4) and the host conduit (2) to affix the liner material (4) into place. Before and during curing, fluid can be used to inflate the compression liner (16) outwardly toward the host conduit (2). Spacers (6) positioned between at least a portion of the liner material (4) and the host conduit (2) may be used to house devices such as fiber optic cable. The spacers (6) and channels (15) can be selectively inflatable to various sizes to allow calibration of liner thickness and to form communication channels. The liner material (4) may be formed into a one piece, tubular lining member having an inflatable enclosure defined between an inner and outer layer of the lining member. |
