titleOfInvention | Method for flood protection |
abstract | The invention relates to hydrology. The inventive method for flood protection by controlling the inflow of tributaries consists in building dams provided with permanent holes on the tributaries and retaining water before said dams in provisional storage reservoirs when water exceeds the calculated flow rate. The number of dams, the height thereof, the capacity of provisional reservoirs is defined as a difference between the volume of water simultaneously produced by precipitation events and snow melt and the volume of water permanently discharged through the dam holes in terms of the acceptable flow. The water exceeding the calculated flow rate is stored before the dams in the provisional storage reservoirs. Said water is discharged in terms of the calculated flow into the main river, the precipitation event and snow melt being stopped, thereby emptying the provisional storage reservoirs. |
