titleOfInvention Organic polymer materials having sulfonic acid groups and method for their preparation
abstract The present invention provides a method for preparing an organic polymer material having sulfonic acid groups, which comprises graft-polymerizing to an organic polymer substrate a polymerizable monomer having a benzene ring moiety and also having a vinyl group and a sulfonic acid group in the form of ammonium salt or lithium salt or in the form of sulfonate ester on the benzene ring. According to the method of the present invention, it is also possible to obtain an organic polymer material having polymer side chains formed on the backbone of an organic polymer substrate, wherein said polymer side chains include benzene ring moieties and have sulfonic acid groups on the benzene ring as the only active functional groups and wherein said sulfonic acid groups are attached at the same substitution position on each benzene ring in the polymer side chains.
