Liquid crystal display element |
abstract |
A liquid crystal display element which can be fabricated more conveniently as compared with a conventional one and suitably employed in a liquid crystal television satisfying both high-pixel transmittance and wide-view-angle display characteristics. The liquid crystal display element comprises a pair of substrates including at least one transparent substrate, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, and a liquid crystal orientation regulating layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and at least any one of the pair of substrates and arranged with a plurality of closed regions(40) having a liquid crystal orientation regulating direction different from the peripheral liquid crystal orientation regulating direction, wherein the closed region(40) has such a shape that the head and tail are distinguishable along the peripheral liquid crystal orientation regulating direction. |
