titleOfInvention Hybrid broadcasting system with terrestrial and satellite supported transmitter stations for the transmission of hierarchically modulated signals to mobile receivers
abstract The invention relates to a terrestrial transmitter station (100) for the transmission of a terrestrial broadcast signal (160), comprising a first receiver (110) for receiving a first signal (112), in order to obtain a satellite received signal (114), a second receiver (120), for receiving a local signal (122), in order to obtain a local received signal (124) and a signal combiner (130) for combining the first received signal (114) with the local received signal (124), to form a combination signal (140). The signal combiner (130) is designed to generate the combination signal (140) such that the combination signal (140) is formed according to a hierarchical modulation, the first received signal (114) being contained within a base layer of the hierarchical modulation and the local received signal (124) is contained in an extension layer of the hierarchical modulation. A terrestrial transmitter station (100) further comprises a transmitter (150) for transmitting the combination signal. A broadcast system comprises a first transmitter and at least one terrestrial transmitter station (100). The information emitted by the satellite-based broadcasting system can be received by means of a corresponding receiver device. The inventive broadcast system permits an addition of local information to a supra-regional broadcasted transmission signal in a frequency-efficient manner.
