Poly(arylene ether) block copolymers and methods for their preparation are provided. The block copolymers include structural units derived from a poly(arylene ether), an activated aromatic carbonate, and a polymer that is a poly(alkylene ether), a hydroxy-terminated polyester, a hydroxyaryl-terminated polysiloxane, or a polycarbonate comprising repeating units derived from a hydroquinone. |
