abstract A formaldehyde-free cleaner composition and method of use for maintaining a blood analyzer are disclosed. The cleaner composition includes surfactants, a proteolytic enzyme, non-formaldehyde releasing antimicrobials, alkaline metal salts, and a buffer. The cleaner composition has a pH in a range from about 7 to about 12 and a formaldehyde concentration equal or less than 1 ppm.
