abstract |
The invention relates to a sheet metal sleeve (1) provided in a vehicle wheel end assembly (10), where the assembly comprises a hub element (12) with a radially extending wheel-mounting flange (14) and an axially extending spigot (18), and further comprises a brake rotor (20) and/or a wheel rim (16) attached to the wheel-mounting flange and centred on the spigot. The sheet metal sleeve (1 ) is mounted over the spigot (18), and to provide corrosion protection to the spigot and any components centred thereon, at least the radially inner and outer surfaces of the sheet metal sleeve consist of a sacrificial metal that has a higher galvanic potential than the metallic components with which the sleeve surfaces are in contact. |
