The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for mixing a fluid with a liquid medium. Specifically, the present invention discloses a method and an apparatus by means of which a fluid is mixed with a liquid medium by means of a rotatable mixer rotor (20), which is driven at least partially with a turbine (47) using as its drive fluid any fluid available in the process. The mixer (40) has a shaft (42)with mixing elements (44), forming the mixer rotor, and turbine vanes (46), forming the turbine wheel, attached thereon. The shaft, the elements and the vanes have been arranged in a housing (48) having a mixing chamber (50) for the mixing elements, and turbine chamber (52) for the turbine vanes. |
