abstract |
Disclosed is a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element having high energy conversion efficiency, wherein the amount of iodine added into the electrolyte solution is significantly reduced. The dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element comprises a porous photoelectrode layer composed of dye-sensitized semiconductor particles, an electrolyte solution layer and a counter electrode layer in this order. The electrolyte solution layer is composed of an electrolyte solution which is obtained by dissolving 0.05-5 M of aliphatic quaternary ammonium ions, 0.05-5 M of imidazolium ions and 0.1-10 M of iodide ions in an organic solvent. Consequently, the amount of iodine added into the electrolyte solution can be significantly reduced. |
