A process for converting glycerin into an effective chemical raw material. A catalyst for producing acrolein and acrylic acid through glycerin dehydration that can produce acrolein and acrylic acid at a high yield. A glycerin dehydration catalyst composed primarily by a chemical compound in which heteropoly acid protons are exchanged with at least one type of cation selected from a group composed of cations from Group 1 to Group 16 in the periodic table within a compound oxide having at least one of Mo, W, and V as a component element. |
