abstract Provided is an R-Fe-B based sintered magnet having on the surface thereof a conversion film that has superior corrosion resistance to conventional conversion films such as a phosphate film, and a method for producing such an R-Fe-B based sintered magnet.  The corrosion resistant magnet is characterized in that a conversion film including at least Zr, Nd, fluorine, and oxygen but not phosphorus as constituent elements is directly formed on the surface of an R-Fe-B based sintered magnet in which R is a rare earth element containing at least Nd.
