titleOfInvention Array including sub-arrays with light-scattering pattern blocks
abstract The invention relates to a transparent substrate that includes, on the surface thereof, an array of parallel lines of patterns separated by domains having a refraction index different from that of the patterns, said array scattering light and including at least 4 sub-arrays, each sub-array including a plurality of blocks of identical patterns having a width L, and each block including 2 to 10 such patterns, wherein the baric centres of adjacent patterns inside a block being spaced by a constant period p, the distance Db between adjacent blocks varies in a non-monotonous manner from one edge of the sub-array to the other edge of the sub-array, is larger than 0 times L and smaller than 20 times L, and is at least one time higher than 1.2 Db m and at least one time less than 0.7 Db m , Db m being the arithmetical average of the distances between the blocks o the sub-array, and wherein the period p varies from one sub-array to the other between 0.5 p m and 1.5 p m from one edge of the array to the other, p m being the arithmetical average of the periods p characteristic of the sub-arrays, so that at least one sub-array has a period higher than 1.2 p m and so that at least one sub-array has a period less than 0.8 p m . The substrate can be used on a window of a building for redirecting the sunlight towards the ceiling.
