titleOfInvention | Process for producing ferro coke |
abstract | A process for ferro coke production is provided in which, when ferro coke is produced using a vertical carbonization furnace, oxidation reactions of components of the ferro coke are prevented from proceeding and the ferro coke can be prevented from decreasing in strength. The process for producing ferro coke is characterized in that when a carbonization gas is blown into a vertical carbonization furnace (5) for producing ferro coke by carbonizing molded pieces of a carbonaceous substance and an iron-containing substance, at least some of the furnace-top gas discharged from the top of the carbonization furnace (5) is used as a circulating gas and as some of the carbonization gas, and that when the circulating gas is mixed with a combustion gas obtained by burning a fuel gas and the resultant mixed gas is blown as the carbonization gas, then the amounts of the circulating gas and combustion gas to be mixed are regulated so that the mixed gas has a composition serving as a reducing atmosphere. It is preferable that the air to be mixed with the fuel gas when the fuel gas is burned should be preheated, and that the air to be mixed with the fuel gas when the fuel gas is burned should be enriched with oxygen. |
