The invention relates to a bearing component, particularly a bearing ring or a sealing ring for a rolling bearing or a sliding bearing, comprising a body with a main part (2) and a coating (4) applied on the main part (2) along a boundary surface (3), wherein the material of the main body (2) comprises a fiber-reinforced plastic with fibers arranged in a plastic matrix, particularly in a cured resin matrix. The material of the coating (4) comprises a ceramic. According to the invention, the bearing component addresses the problem of providing an easily producible bearing component which retains the advantages of a fully ceramic bearing component and which exhibits improved properties during operation. The invention further relates to a bearing comprising such a bearing component. |
